John Carpenter proposed to young actress Anne Lockhart but she didn’t like the proposed film project and she refused the part. The second option of John Carpenter was Jamie Lee Curtis (known to audience from the TV series - Operation Petticoat). Jamie Lee Curtis is daughter of legendary actress Janet Leigh, who performed the part of Marrion Crane in Psycho film.
